First of all, a big well done to Mark’s team for a very well earned 3rd Victory. For our team, despite coming out with disappointing result we returned very encouraged about our future match racing events.
On the first day, we started fairly well in 3 of our 5 races where we felt we should have done better but due our own tactical errors lost the lead and could not re gain it. So we went home slightly discouraged but still with ambition of bettering our results the next day. Which, luckily we did, just. After Sunday we came home one with leaving sunday for us to race 2 races in the morning and then, whether we were kicked out or not layed in the hands of some of the other results and unfortunately the wrong person won and we wen’t home early.
However, the whole crew were not to depressed because we felt that we had not been easily beaten and that we ‘put up a fight’ to some of the top teams in England so, next year hopfully we can come back and better our result. The team were also invited by the RYA to a Nations Cup qualifier in Kinsale, Ireland. Today i am off to Les Sables d’Olonne to help prepare Ecover 3 for the Vendee globe, next month, So unfortunately i cannot attend however, the team is going to go with a different helm, i wish them the best of luck.
Sam
